ABOUTWildcard Incubator provides a bridge for Japanese entrepreneurs seeking to break into the United States. Our program provides Japanese entrepreneurs wth the tools to scale their business globally. We provide personalized training, access to the resources, and a network in the United States. Our mission is to enable Japanese entrepreneurs to succeed.
Wildcard was launched with the belief that Japan has an untapped reservoir of entrepreneurial and technical talent. But the ability for these founders to build successful businesses in the U.S., and globally, faces unique challenges. Challenges that include cultural differences, legal requirements, and access to a support network. Wildcard empowers Japanese founders to build innovative companies outside of Japan by providing solutions to those obstacles. who we work withWe work with entrepreneurs from Japan seeking to launch in the United States. This allows us to work with startups as well as existing small to mid-sized businesses with high-growth potential. Most of our client startups will be structured as U.S. entities based in the U.S. where the core customer base exists. Most of our core programs will be held in our U.S. facility with occasional programs outside the U.S.
OUR SERVICETraining. We take a one-on-one approach that emphasizes customized support for each individual startup. Founders have unique needs, we appreciate that.
Services. We provide services every Japanese company building a presence in the U.S. needs. This includes legal, business planning, sales, marketing, HR, and financing. It's difficult to come to a new country; we make it easier. Networking. We work with our startup founders to give them access to a network that can help them succeed. Who you know matters. We can connect founders with those that can help build their business grow in the United States. +Professional Service. We provide a set of professional services including M&A advisory, in-depth research, consulting and outsourcing services (sales/marketing/business development, etc.) primarily serving U.S. firms, either established firms or U.S. founded-startups, financial sponsors (venture capital funds etc.), seeking to tap the Far East market <M&A, strategic partnership, market entry & expansion, etc.> or re-establish ongoing businesses in the region <restructuring/turn-around, etc.>. Uber、AirBnB、Box等、多くの北米/海外発スタートアップ企業が日本に進出し市場での認知度を高めている一方で、北米において日本のスタートアップのほとんどは未だ「無名」です。その原因の一つには、中国やインドのように米国に地に足をつけて、世の中にとって必要なものを本気で取り組む日本人が少ないことが挙げられます。また、日本人が海外起業をしたいと考えた時に、本格的なバックアップ環境を提供するサポート企業がほとんどないことも大きな原因となっております。さらには、日本を離れて諸外国に行くと必ずといって良いほど現地社会の中に「日本人縦型村社会」を形成したがる独特の傾向も原因の一つかもしれません。 そこで、本プログラムでは、米国サンフランシスコに本拠地を置き、サービス系スタートアップでの実務経験をはじめ、長年の投資銀行業界及び日本国内及びシリコンバレーでのベンチャー投資を通じた実務ノウハウや経験を持つ熊谷伸栄とアメリカ・シリコンバレーのスタートアップ・シーンで幅広い活動をするCharles Belleを中心とする日米精鋭チーム(※)により、事業プランを徹底的にブラッシュアップし、初期的な事業構築に加担をしたのちに、北米の投資家からのインキュベーション投資を促進し、現地での事業運営の実務的な後方支援を”共同創業者のアウトソース”的に行います。 ※プロジェクト規模で随時追加メンバーあり 主な対象 北米を中心とした海外市場を主要マーケットとして、設立当初から現地を活動拠点とする事業を想定されるスタートアップや個人、及び、将来的に北米での事業開発を本格的に視野に入れている日本国内の中小企業 プログラムの主な特徴
